The Life and Words of Martin Luther King, Jr.

I read The Life and Words of Martin Luther King, Jr. by Ira Peck. Monday and Yesterday to remember the amazing man. It is a Scholastic Biography, so it was written for kids, but the message is still the same. What an amazing man he was. He did so many things for our country and we are still benefiting from them. Yesterday was a very important day in the history of our country. The first person that wasn't a white male was sworn in as our next president. While I didn't vote for him, I still see it as an inspiring occurrence for our country and for our children. This event may not have happened if it wasn't for Dr. King. His message was a fantastic one and one that we all should adhere to, if the need to protest ever happened. He believed in nonviolence. All of his protests were nonviolent and he taught others to do the same way. He lived in a time of so much conflict and hatred, and yet he was able to rise above it. He had a dream, and I believe his dream is coming true. Praise to that man!
